It’s been a crazy week over here & I am just now finishing up our weekend recap in Nashville. I loved reading all of your suggestions & recommendations, thank you all so much for sending them, we had the best time visiting this beautiful city!!!
Our first night there, we went straight to the Midtown area to go to my husband’s favorite spot, Hattie B’s Hot Chicken. He has been raving about this place since he went on a guys trip last summer and we all couldn’t wait to try it. The line was around the block, and for good reason! It was HOT, but seriously delicious. We walked around to a few of the local bars, had drinks at Tavern and then ended the night with live music at Loser’s (total dive bar but way fun & amazing popcorn).
Just writing about it already has me wishing we could go back, it is the cutest, small town feel but with such an eclectic mix of people & things. We stayed in 12 South and loved being just minutes away from all of the fun, I highly recommend this area for a place to stay! You could easily spend a full day here, and we basically did, it is all walkable & full of cute places that make you just want to stay forever. We had breakfast at the Frothy Monkey (highly recommend the pancakes & toasted coconut iced coffee) but made a stop at the Five Daughters Bakery after for a pastry to-go and another coffee to sip while walking around. The best thing about this neighborhood is that you feel at home, everyone is so friendly and you really can’t tell who lives there & who is a tourist. We started at White’s Mercantile, I wanted just about everything inside, I ended up picking up a Nashville shirt for myself (because one can never have too many white t-shirts) and a Nashville coloring book for the girls. Parked out front we found a custard food truck, a camper making homemade s’mores & Amelia’s Flower Truck.
We went to BarTaco for their famous fresh squeezed margaritas & sat out on the patio, it was definitely one of our favorite spots in the area & we ended up coming back at the end of the night for tacos! 😉 A few other things in this area that we loved included Imogene + Willie (quick shopping spot with a great story), Flip Side (for a bloody mary!) and finding all of the murals (amazing photo opps if the lines weren’t so long + the sun wasn’t so bright).
We took an Uber to East Nashville in the afternoon (we had already stopped here once on our way into town for a margarita + chips & guac at Rosepepper) which has tons of amazing food options. We ate at one of our favorite places, The Pharmacy, highly recommended for amazing burgers and fries, and the best beer garden patio area!
Our first two trips to Nashville, we had the kids with us, so we didn’t go Downtown/Broadway. So this time it was high on our list & it did not disappoint! The pedestrian bridge nearby is a beautiful spot to see the city & watch the sun set. I think the key to having a fun time at the bars here is taking the time to walk around, take it all in & get a feel for what bars are your vibe. We actually loved how low key Crazytown was, it wasn’t smokey like a lot of the others & not as crowded. The live music was a mix of country + rock and roll (think lots of George Straight, Eric Church & Tom Petty), and we had a seat right at the end of the bar. It was SO fun, we did not want to leave! We also loved Acme Feed & Seed, per lots of your recommendations! It was a little more trendy but the same vibe, super laid back & amazing music. They also had tons of great craft beers & specialty cocktails. There are a ton of rooftop bars in this area & it is definitely a must-see while in the city!
Biscuit Love is also a must visit, we have gone for breakfast (bonuts!) each of the times we have been in Nashville & it is a forever favorite!
There are still so many spots we want to visit next time (like Arrington Vineyards and Pinewood Social) and I think we need to spend more than 48 hours there so we can do it all, because we will definitely be going back for more hot chicken! 😉 I hope this is helpful for all of you who plan to visit Nashville, you will love it there!! Ooooo how fun!!! We moved to Charlotte two years ago and have been wanting to visit Nashville! We drove through on our move out here, but didn’t do anything other than sleep at the hotel, ha. Right now, our girls are 4, 3, and 5 months, so a trip isn’t in the works soon. However, I am bookmarking this so when we do go I will know exactly all the spots to hit!! Thanks!! 🙂

We were in Nashville too over the weekend!! 12 South was adorable! I’d like to stay there next time. We stayed downtown so we could be close to Broadway for this trip. You are so right – it’s best to walk up and down the street to get a feel of which bars you want to try out. Acme Feed and Seed was one of our fav spots. And we ate at Bartaco too – OMG so delish. I’m dying to go to their Atlanta location now too! Glad you guys had a fun trip! I’ve got a couple of posts up on my blog too about our trip to Nashville if you wanna take a look. 🙂

I ALWAYS tell Chad that IF we ever moved….it would HAVE to be Nashville! You absolutely need to go to Arrington Vineyards and get the Red Fox wine next time! I could literally pop a tent and just live on that property!!!!!

My husband and I love Nashville! Such a fun city. Would you pretty please source your leopard flats? I have bought the same Steve Madden ones twice in a row but wear through them FAST because…leopard flats! They go with everything! I’m in need of a new pair 😀
