I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving, I swear I am still recovering from a pumpkin pie & whipped cream food coma. Since getting out the turkey fryer is such a production, we make a point to fry just about everything while we have it hot with oil, I know, so very whole 30 of us. We started out by frying up some donuts for breakfast, I just grabbed a random recipe online the morning of, they turned out to be a little cakey, but still good nonetheless.
Everyone came over around 11, we made bacon wrapped smokies, cranberry brie bites & a cheese tray for appetizers. Somehow we still had room for Thanksgiving dinner. The fried turkey was amazing as always, we gave Eloise her first run at the giant turkey leg!! 😉 She also wore the same dress & bib that Harper wore for her first Thanksgiving, doesn’t get much cuter!
Gold Dress (old from Gap) \ Grey Sweater \ Fur Vest (sold out, similar here) \ Brown Riding Boots (old from Dillards, similar here) \ White Tulle Dress (sold out from Old Navy)
Harper was convinced that Thanksgiving would have been better if we “ate lasagna instead of turkey, like polar bears do” (what?!) but she had such a fun day with a house full of friends & family. The guys played their annual game of basketball after dinner, we chopped & shot (with a pellet gun) all of our pumpkins from the Fall & then we took a serious amount of Thanksgiving day naps. Everyone, including all of Harper’s dolls that I found lined up like this on pillows, so cleverly covered up with my solly wrap. The imagination on that girl!!
Another holiday come & gone, so happy to have been able to host again this year & we can’t wait to have everyone back again for Christmas!
Happy December First!! XO

How did you shape the donuts? Do you have a recipe you can share?
