Things have been pretty crazy around here for the last few days, we have been having so much fun with Brandon’s family in town. His sister, her husband & their kids, ages three & one, have been staying with us for the week & the kids had a blast all playing together! We took them to our favorite parks, the donut shop, the pool, made lots of messes at home with bubbles & playdough, and made lots of goodies in the kitchen, s’mores, popsicles & margaritas!
Little Quinn reminded me so much of Harper at one year old!
The guys even ran a little daddy daycare operation so us girls could have a kid-free afternoon to do a little shopping. It’s crazy how much shopping, eating & wine/coffee drinking can be done when there aren’t carseats & strollers involved. Moms on a mission! 😉
It appears they had it totally under control.
It ended up being too hot to take the kids to the zoo this weekend, mostly for Eloise, so we opted for a little waterpark action & none of the kids were complaining! We ran into the girls’ pediatrician while we were there who told me it was totally safe to take Eloise in the water (I had already read about it & planned to) but it was perfect timing, so in she went & she loved it. Keeping track of four kids in water was a total circus, but we had a fun time & it resulted in some serious afternoon napping. Win, win!
And we even managed to get a group shot before they head home, of course none of the kids are looking or smiling, but a great memory nonetheless!!
After this little staycation, we are back to reality (and piles of laundry). Harper starts nursery school again in just two short weeks, my parents got a house here so they’ll be here by Labor Day (woohoo!!!!) & we will be making our first trip back to Iowa with Eloise next month. And next month is the official start of Fall, so nothing but happy vibes all around!! 🙂
