We took the girls up to Lake Lanier on Saturday morning, went to the beach & then to the water park. It was such a fun & relaxing day, and nice for once to have a good excuse for why I couldn’t go down the water slides with everyone (aside from the fact that I am a huge chicken). Eloise kicked back & watched all of the action, while Harper was living it up in the wave pool most of the day. We ate lunch, Harper discovered pink lemonade for the first time (and drank from a cup like a big girl!!) & three of the four of us slept the entire way home.
(The girls’ suits are both sold out from Gap, but My swimsuit is on super sale at J.Crew Factory right now, top & bottom)
We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out at home since we were finally taking the potty training plunge (ha, no pun intended). It was definitely on us for Harper not being potty trained yet, we tried & failed multiple times, and kept putting it off because we always had so many things going on each weekend that we didn’t feel like she would be able to focus. So yesterday, we committed to it & had lots of success, only one accident all day! Hopefully she will keep it up & we can say goodbye to double diaper duty for a while! 🙂 So proud of our big girl!!
We had friends out for a little Sunday Funday action, did some swinging in the hammocks & fired up the grill. Both girls were loving it, Eloise is such a little outdoorsy girl!
Brandon also hung the new chalkboard this weekend & I was finally able to finish one of my favorite summery quotes, which is now listed as a print in my shop! I’m happy to do a more detailed tutorial on how we made this one, but basically we just had a piece of plywood cut at Home Depot to the size we wanted, painted it with chalkboard paint & framed it out with trim. We made it extra large so Harper had plenty of room to doodle on the bottom! Also, my long awaited Ikat curtains finally came in the mail, and I am surprisingly in love with them!! They really make a huge difference in our room (see the before here) & I’m definitely kicking myself for not getting some sooner. Bet you can’t guess which two year old thinks they are just for her peek-a-boo pleasure!? 🙂
We are kicking off Brandon’s birthday week today & can’t wait for lots of festivities all week long. Lots of his favorite foods & treats, a concert & best of all, third annual birthday beer olympics on Saturday! Game on!!
